Network Configuration [ Help Index ]

The Network configuration panel allows you to modify @Mail's network configuration settings. These settings include the configuration of IP-retrieval for the two ethetnet interfaces, as well as some options for what to use as a static IP, subnet mask, and nameserver.

By default, eth0 is set up with the IP address of 192.168.0.220. This is static, and is not assigned by the DHCP service - this can be changed in the Network Configuration panel, however.

Ip Configuration - this allows you to configure how you want your IP address configured, for the selected port. We recommend that at least one interface be left on Manual Configuration instead of DHCP.

Ethernet Interface - this allows you to configure the IP address of the ethernet interface specified. It is left blank when you use DHCP.

Netmask Interface - this is used to identify which part of the IP address is the identifier for it's location on the subnetwork. We recommend that this be left at it's default configuration, 255.255.255.0

Nameservers - This allows you to specify up to three nameservers that can be used by @Mail. It is imperative that you have at least one.
