Managing Resellers

In SiteBuilder, resellers are subadministrators who can perform a variety of management operations on business plans, sites, and allowed hosts. For example, a reseller can change business plans, define page limits and allowed hosts for the sites assigned to his/her account. They cannot manage the sites that belong to other resellers or are non-assigned to any other reseller. Resellers can also create sites in SiteBuilder for Plesk domains (Domain Administrators option). For more information on the functionality available for resellers, refer to the SiteBuilder user documentation.

This section describes how the Plesk administrator logged under the SiteBuilder administrator account can manage reseller accounts through the Remote Administration Module interface.

When you create a reseller account, the SiteBuilder Remote Administration Module performs the following operations:

To create and configure a reseller account:

  1. On the SBM main page, click Resellers.
  2. On the Resellers page, click Add Reseller.
  3. On the General tab, specify the following parameters for the new reseller account (the fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory):
  4. If you want to associate existing sites with this reseller account, open the Sites tab. On this tab, you can view all sites created through the SiteBuilder Wizard. To assign a site to the reseller account, select the check box corresponding to the target site and click Add to list. A 'plus' sign appears in the In list column if the site is added to this reseller account.

  5. Click the Hosts tab to define hosts to which publishing is allowed for the sites that belong to this reseller. From the general list of allowed hosts, select the hosts to which the sites of this reseller can be published. Use the check boxes to select hosts. Click Add to list. A 'plus' sign appears in the In list column if the sites of this reseller can be published to the specified host.
  6. Open the Plans tab to define the business plans that will be applied to the sites belonging to this reseller. Select a plan from the list of business plans and click Add to list. A 'plus' sign appears in the In list column if the business plan can be applied to the sites of this reseller.

  7. Click Save. The new reseller account will be added to the list of resellers and to the SiteBuilder database. Please, send the login and password to the reseller so that he/she could log in to the SiteBuilder application and the SiteBuilder RA module.

On the Resellers management page you can see a list of all resellers existing in the SiteBuilder database, irrespective from where they were created, either from the SiteBuilder administration panel or through the SiteBuilder RA module.

To edit reseller account properties:

Click the reseller login in the Login column and edit the parameters you have specified during creation of the reseller account.

To remove a reseller account from the SiteBuilder database:

  1. In the list of resellers, select the check box corresponding to the account you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm the operation and click OK. The reseller account will be removed from the SiteBuilder database. All sites associated with this reseller account will remain non-assigned to any other reseller and will be transferred to the root owner.
